Q. Does the Bluetooth on the phone need to be on for the TextBuster to work.
A. Yes, the Bluetooth must be on for the TextBuster application to work.
 
Q. What happens if the TextBuster user turns off the Bluetooth prior to entering the vehicle?
A. If the user turns off Bluetooth, the phone will lock and say "turn on Bluetooth", the backend of the server will also be informed about the state of Bluetooth on the device. 
 
Q. What happens if the TextBuster user turns off or deletes the application?
A. The server will be informed immediately which will send an email message to the parent, guardian or fleet manager.
 
Q. What if the user reboots the phone while driving?
A. The screen will automatically display the locked screen upon restart.
 
Q. When switching from one TB module to another will the user need to pair the application each time?
A. No, the user has to pair once with each TextBuster module, after that the TextBuster is known to the phone.
 
Q. Will the TextBuster application interfere with other hands free Bluetooth devices?
A. No, the TextBuster will not interrupt or disconnect any other Bluetooth or hands free devices.
 
Q. Can I still make phone calls when the TextBuster application is working?
A. Yes you can make and receive calls while the TextBuster application is on. You can also use the phones GPS navigation if needed.
 
Q. What happens when the TextBuster phone is sent an email or text message while driving with the TextBuster?
A. The phone will still receive all the messages but cannot be viewed until the vehicle is shut off.
 
Q. How many phones will work with each TextBuster module?
A. You can have (5) phones synced to each TextBuster module. If more than (5) phones sync to the module, the application will still work but may take a few minutes to lock. Each TextBuster module stores the number of phones it syncs with.
 
Q. How many TextBuster modules will work with each phone?
A. Your phone can work with an unlimited number of TextBuster modules.
 
Q. What if I getting a pairing request for a pin number from the phone?
A. You do not need to enter a pin code number. The TextBuster will pair up automatically after the initial screen set up. If you ever receive a paring request from the phone(s) operating system, simply hit “cancel”.
 
Q. When I turn off or exit the vehicle how long should it take before the data functions on the phone are operational again?
A. Approximately 30 to 60 seconds after turning off the vehicle.

A. The model TB2W will work with every vehicle manufactured.
 
Q. How long should it take to install the TextBuster device?
A. Average installation time should be 15 minutes depending on the vehicle and mounting location selected.
 
 

There is no green light on the TextBuster module when the ignition is turned on.

 
 
 
1. Check to ensure the (black ground wire) is attached to a good vehicle ground source.
2. Make sure the (red power wire) is attached to an ignition source that comes on with the ignition key in the “on” or “run” position.
3. Make sure the harness is securely plugged into the TextBuster module.
 
Q. What is the best mounting location for the TextBuster module?
A. The ideal mounting location is close proximity to the vehicles interior fuse panel and wire tied above the steering column area away from any obstructions or moving parts. This is proving the fuse panel for the vehicle is located on the driver’s side. Never mount the TextBuster module under the hood of the vehicle.
 
Q. Can the TextBuster module be re-installed to a new vehicle when you trade in or sell your car?
A. Yes the TextBuster can be transferred from vehicle to vehicle as many times as needed.
 
Q. Will the TextBuster work on other motorized vehicles besides an automobile?
A. Yes, the TextBuster can work on boats, tractors, trucks, RV’s or any motorized vehicle that is 12 volt supplied.
 
Q. Can the provided wire harnesses be extended in length of necessary?
A. Yes, the current harness length of 36” can be extended up to 35’ if needed for RV’s or certain circumstances. Be sure to use 22 gauge wire or larger when extending the length.
 
Q. Do I need to use the provided fuse tap connectors when installing the red power wire to an ignition source?
A. No, you can connect directly to any wire powered by the vehicles ignition system with scotch locks, solder or your preferred method of connection. This is only recommended for professional installers. The black ground wire can also be attached directly to any vehicle ground wire with the same methods.

Q. Will the TextBuster module TBOBD work with every vehicle made?
A. The TextBuster model TBOBD is designed to work with any vehicle manufactured from 1996 and newer only. Vehicles older than 1996 will have to use model TB2W.
 
Q. What is the best mounting location for the TextBuster module TBOBD?
A. The ideal location for this model is within 36” of the vehicles diagnostic connector. Most vehicles diagnostic connectors are located under the driver’s dash board. If you are not sure of the location for the diagnostic connector in your vehicle, consult your vehicles owner’s manual or visit http://www.obdclearinghouse.com/index.php?body=oemdb and enter your vehicles year make and model.
 
Q. How long should it take to install the TextBuster model TBOBD?
A. Average installation time is approximately 5 minutes depending on the vehicle and mounting location selected. There is no wire installation involved with this model. The only installation time will be simply hiding the TextBuster module under the dash with the provided wire ties or double-sided tape.
 
Q. Can the TextBuster model TBOBD be re-installed to a new vehicle when you trade in or sell your car?
A. Yes the TextBuster can be transferred as many times as needed provided the vehicle is 1996 and newer.
 
Q. Will the TextBuster model TBOBD work on other motorized vehicles besides an automobile?
A. No, model TBOBD is designed for automobiles only. Model TB2W can be purchased to work in other 12 volt operated vehicles.
 
Q. What happens when a vehicle is taken in for service and the facility disconnects the TextBuster smart cable from the vehicles diagnostic connector?
A. The service tech can unplug the smart cable at anytime and when finished simply plug the cable back in. This will not affect the TextBuster operation.
